Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited for the post of Junior  Research Fellow(JRF) to work on a project titled “Design and Development of Computer based Intervention Model for Enhancing Numerical Cognition of Pupils to Cope with Mathematics Curricula in Primary School” sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, India under the Cognitive Research Initiative (CRI) for three years.

Objectives of the Project:

● Design and development of virtual reality (VR) based intervention on non-symbolic mathematics to improve concepts of number systems. Validating the outcome of the VR based intervention over other types of interventions.

● Design and development of computer based games with the help of immersive media on symbolic mathematics and curriculum based mathematics for children of Grade I and Grade II in primary schools around BHU, Varanasi.

● Development of effective Viewpoint Analyzer such as Field-of-View Prediction in 360- Degree VR videos, Grouping Viewpoints of users.

● Development of passive monitoring tools to capture brain signals of the students while they will undergo intervention and finding the correlation between the brain signal and the outcome of the training.

● Tenure: Three Years (initial appointment will be for one year which may be extended based on performance)

● Emoluments: INR 37,000/- + 18% HRA per month for JRF

● Qualifications

★ M.Tech./M.E.  degree  in  Computer Technology/ Information Technology/  Electronics and  Communication Engineering/ Mathematics and Computing/ All related subjects of Computer Engineering with minimum 60% marks (or, 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale).

or

B.Tech./B.E. degree in Computer Technology/ Information Technology/ Electronics and  Communication Engineering/ Mathematics and Computing/ All related subjects of Computer Science & Engineering with minimum 75% marks (or 7.5 CPI on a 10-point scale) with GATE in CS/IT/Data Science.

★ Qualified in GATE in CS/IT/Data Science or National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship

(Assistant Professor)

● Desirable Skills/Experiences:

□  Hands-on experience with implementing VR applications. Good communication skills in English

● Upper Age Limit: 28 Years for JRF. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India (GoI) norms
