The COO role will be a key member of the senior management team, who will maintain control of diverse business operations, as an experienced and efficient leader. Roles and Responsibilities

● Design, implement, and optimize operational strategies, business plans, and processes aligned with the vision of Annam Foundation.

● Set measurable performance goals and ensure scalable growth across the Foundation’s verticals.

● Develop and enforce policies that uphold organizational values and promote a culture of innovation and inclusivity.

● Oversee  day-to-day  operations  and  coordinate  with  departmental  heads  across  IT,  Finance, Procurement, Marketing, and HR to ensure seamless execution of strategic objectives.

● Lead  and  mentor  cross-functional  teams  to  inspire  high  performance,  collaboration,  and commitment to the Foundation’s mission.

● Monitor organizational performance by analyzing data, KPIs, and operational metrics to inform evidence-based decision-making.

● Prepare and present progress reports and key updates to the Project Director and Governing Body.

● Collaborate with leadership in identifying, evaluating, and supporting AI-driven startups and fundraising opportunities relevant to agriculture and allied sectors.

● Actively  participate  in  institutional  growth  through  expansion  initiatives,  including  strategic investments, research collaborations, and corporate alliances.

● Collaborate with key national and international stakeholders such as NITI Aayog, ICAR, Ministry of Education (MoE), agri-tech startups, FAO, and the World Bank to drive co-creation and co- implementation of impactful AI solutions.

● Cultivate and manage strong relationships with stakeholders including startups, industry partners, research institutions, vendors, and the broader innovation ecosystem.

Qualifications and Skills

● Educational Background: A postgraduate degree in Management (MBA or equivalent) with an undergraduate or foundation degree in Engineering/Technology. A strong orientation toward emerging technologies and responsible AI is essential. Higher qualifications may be preferred. 

● Experience: Proven track record in COO/CEO or equivalent leadership roles with experience in building and scaling innovation-driven organizations.

● Demonstrated expertise in business operations across key functions—finance, HR, procurement, and strategy.

● Strong strategic planning, business development, and execution capabilities.

● Ability to work with data-driven insights for performance monitoring and decision-making.

● Deep understanding of IT systems, business infrastructure, and digital transformation tools.

● Exceptional   organizational   leadership,   communication,   securing   grants   and   stakeholder engagement skills.

● High  emotional  intelligence,  with  an  aptitude  for  team-building,  negotiation,  and  conflict resolution.

ANNAM.AI at IIT Ropar is India’s pioneering Centre of Excellence dedicated to building AI-powered solutions for the agricultural sector. As Senior Operating Officer (SOO), you will support the Chief Operating Officer in executing high-impact programs and managing the operational delivery of ANNAM’s AI-driven initiatives across rural India. You will play a pivotal role in project execution, stakeholder coordination, compliance, data governance, and capacity-building programs that shape the future of agricultural innovation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Management|Stakeholder Collaboration & Outreach|Data Governance & Compliance|Resource Mobilization & Procurement

● Assist the COO in the implementation and day-to-day coordination of strategic initiatives and AI projects.

● Manage operational logistics for pilot projects and deployment of AI-based agricultural solutions across regions.

● Master’s degree in Management, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field preferred.

● 5-8 years of relevant experience in operations/project management, preferably in tech-based rural or government programs.

●  Strong coordination, documentation, and team leadership skills.

●  Familiarity with AI, IoT, and digital tools is a strong advantage.

●  Willingness to travel for field-level engagements.

● In the range of INR 12-16 Lakh, negotiable depending on experience. An initial period of appointment will be two years, extendable for 5 years based on the performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

● Lead the development and deployment of AI/ML models in domains like precision agriculture, climate-smart farming, disease/pest prediction, and soil analytics.

● Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to build data-driven products that integrate IoT, remote sensing, satellite imagery, and ground-level agricultural data.

● Oversee the technical design, training, and optimization of AI algorithms and pipelines.

● Minimum  5  years  of  hands-on  experience  in  developing  and  deploying  AI/ML  solutions; experience with agri-tech preferred.

● Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, etc.

● Strong  understanding  of  machine  learning,  deep  learning,  NLP,  AI  frameworks  and  data engineering.

● Experience working with GIS data, satellite data, and agri datasets is an advantage.

● Ability to lead projects independently and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.

● Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for applying technology to social impact domains.

● Salary Up to INR 20 LPA, negotiable depending on experience.
