WALK IN INTERVIEW FOR RECRUITMENT OF SENIOR RESIDENTS (NON-ACADEMIC)


All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati, Assam has been established as an Institute of National Importance. It is one of the upcoming AIIMS and Apex Healthcare Institute established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalance in quality, tertiary level healthcare in the Country and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate and higher medical education and training.

AIIMS, Guwahati invites application for the post of Senior Resident (Non-Academic) on tenure basis for a period of 03 (three)  years (Tenure post on contract for maximum period of 3 years as per Central Residency Scheme), in various Departments of AIIMS, Guwahati, Assam as under: -



Note: -

1. Candidates having MD/MS Degree in General Medicine / General Surgery are eligible to apply for residency in medical and surgical super-specialty departments respectively.

2. Candidates having MD in Paediatrics can apply for residency in Neonatology.

3. Candidates  having  MD/MS  in  Emergency  Medicine,  Obs  &  Gynae,  Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia and General surgery can apply for residency in Trauma & emergency.

4. Candidates having MD in Pathology can apply for residency in Transfusion Medicine.

5. Candidates having MD in Respiratory Medicine can apply for Residency in Pulmonary
Medicine.

Medical Super specialties include Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology / Haematology Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary Medicine. Surgical Super specialties include Burns & Plastic Surgery, Cardio thoracic and vascular Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology and Urology.

A) Eligibility Criteria:

Essential Qualifications: -

A Post Graduation Medical Degree (MD/MS/DNB) or Equivalent in relevant discipline; MDS for Dentistry from recognized University/Institute as under the Residency Scheme. All the terms and conditions of the Scheme will be applicable.

Essential Qualification for Non-Medical Candidates in the following disciplines: 

Anatomy: - M.Sc., PhD (Human Anatomy)

Physiology: - M.Sc., PhD (Medical Physiology / Physiology) 

Biochemistry: - M.Sc., PhD (Medical Biochemistry / Biochemistry)

Microbiology: - M.Sc., PhD (Medical Microbiology / Microbiology)

The aspiring  applicants  satisfying  the  eligibility criteria  in  all  respect  can  submit  their application through ON-LINE mode. The online registration of application will be made available on AIIMS, Guwahati official website i.e., https://aiimsguwahati.ac.in. The link for submission of online applications in respect of above said posts along with other relevant information will be activated on the date of advertisement as posted on the website of the institution. The last date of online submission of applications will be 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement as posted on the website of the institution.

1. The candidates who are in service in any Govt. Hospital / Institutions are required to submit their application through proper channel only. The candidates will not be permitted for Interview, if they fail to produce no objection certificate on the day of interview during scrutiny of documents. They may be allowed provisionally, only if, they produce a Certificate of informing to the HoD / Head of Organization of Institute in which they are employed. If brought to the notice of authorities at any stage that the candidate had not submitted application through proper channel, then the candidature will stand cancelled and in case of selected candidate, service will be terminated immediately.

2. OBC Certificates: The vacancies are being advertised in financial year 2025-26, therefore, valid OBC NCL certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025 but not later than the closing date of the application will be considered as valid. Candidates applying under OBC category must produce the valid Caste certificate in the format provided by the DoP&T vide O.M. No. 36036/2/2013-Estt. (Res.) dated 30.05.2014 and DoP&T OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt(Res-I) dated 31.03.2016. Certificate must be valid for employment in Central Government Institutions. OBC candidate’s eligibility will be based on Castes borne in the Central List of Govt. of India. Their Sub-caste should also match with the entries in Central List of OBC, failing  which  their candidature as OBC candidate  will not be considered. The OBC certificate should clearly show that the applicant does not belong to the Creamy Layer.

3. EWS Category: The vacancies advertised under EWS Category are as per the instructions issued by DoPT, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Govt. of India, vide OM. No.
36039 / 1 / 2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019. Application under EWS category will be considered
subject to submission of Income and Assets certificate on a prescribed format issued by the
competent authority and subject to verification of genuineness of the certificate by the issuing authority. As per DoP&T OM No. 36039/1/2019- Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019, the crucial date for submitting income and asset certificate by the candidate is the closing date of application for the 
post, except in cases where date is fixed otherwise. Candidates are required to upload valid EWS
certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025 based on income of Financial Year 2024-25.

4. Persons with Disabilities: 4% vacancies are reserved on a horizontal basis. However, the candidate shall be allowed to join only after medical fitness certification by duly constituted Medical Board. The candidate must possess a valid document certifying his/her physical disability is conforming to judgment of Supreme Court of India. The disability certificate should be signed by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the State or Central Govt. Hospitals/Institutions & countersigned by Medical Superintendent.

5. Candidates  who  wish  to  be  considered  against  reserved  vacancies  or  seek  age relaxation must submit requisite certificate from the competent authority, when such certificates are sought at the time of document verification. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwBD category will not be entertained and their candidature will be cancelled.

The maximum age limit, essential qualification & experiences are to be taken up to the date of publishing this notification in Institute.

For filling up of Online application, candidates must have the following pre-requisites ready:

i. Valid e-mail ID

ii. Scanned Passport size photograph of the candidate (in JPG format).
 
iii. Scanned signature of the candidate (in JPG format).

iv. Scanned copies of relevant documents.

Candidates are advised to fill their correct and active E-mail ID in the online application, as all correspondences will be made by the Institute through E-mail. Test/Interview schedule will be mailed in due course to the candidate in their registered E-mail. However, candidates shall visit official website regularly for all updates.

The applicants applying in response to this advertisement should satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for the post applied for. They must be fulfilling eligibility criteria as on the closing date of online applications failing which their application will be rejected.

The online application will be closed on the last date of the receipt of application. The candidature of such applicant who fails to complete the online application by the stipulated date and time will not be considered and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

The candidate must ensure that their photo and signature should be clearly visible in preview at the time of filling up of application in online mode. If photo/signature image is displayed small or not visible in preview on website, that means photo/signature is not as per the AIIMS,  Guwahati prescribed guidelines and, in that case, their application will be rejected. So, candidates are advised to be careful while uploading their photo and signature.

6. The candidates are to satisfy all eligibility criteria. They must possess the educational qualification and experiences as recognized by the Govt. of India. Their candidature will be cancelled at any stage if it is found that their educational qualification is not recognized by the Govt. of India.

7.  The posts of Senior Residents will be regulated as per the provision of Central Residency
Scheme. The posts of Senior Resident will be governed by CCS (Temporary Service) Rules. 

8. Qualifications and experiences as prescribed may be relaxed in exceptional cases at the discretion of the Selection Committee with prior approval of the Competent Authority. The experience will be counted up to the date of publishing this notification in the Institute website.

10.  Application Procedure: Eligible candidates are required to fill up the Online application along with relevant documents.

11. Mode of Selection: - Based on the online Applications and further scrutiny, the Interview will be conducted after verifying the application and requisite documents of the candidates. List of eligible candidates will be uploaded in the Institute website. The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the interview only.

12.Selection Procedure: -

a) The candidate can apply for more than one post out of enlisted Departments. However, to apply for more than one post, he/she is required to fill in the attached form separately along with application fees.

b) The merit list for all categories i.e., UR / EWS / OBC/ SC / ST (selected and waiting list)
shall be prepared on the basis of personal interview.

c) Selected candidates will have to report for document verification following which the offers of appointment will be issued to the successful candidates subject to Verification of their documents and found in order.

d) Any vacancy arising because of non-joining of the selected candidates in this selection or on resignation of candidates; selected post will be offered to the candidates from waiting list according to their merit list. All applicants must provide phone numbers and e-mail for faster communication.

e)  Qualification/Experience/Age/etc. will be considered up to the date of publication of this notification in institute website.

f)  The final result will be displayed on the Institute.

13. Application Fee:

a) UR / OBC Category           :  Rs. 1000/- with transaction charges as applicable

b) SC / ST / EWS Category   :  Rs. 500/- with transaction charges as applicable

c) PwBD Category                 :   NIL

14.     The candidates will have to pay the prescribed application fee online by clicking in the link provided in the website while filing up the Online Application.

a)  Application fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

b) Applications without the prescribed fee will not be considered and summarily rejected.

15. The applicants already in service shall have to produce “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer at the time of Interview/document verification.

16. The decision of the Competent Authority of AIIMS, Guwahati in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, selection and allotment of posts  to selected candidates will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry/correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

1.  The All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a Statutory Body under aegis of Ministry of Health
& Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

2.Service under the Institute is governed by the Act and the Rules & Regulations framed thereunder.

3. All the posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees of similar status at Guwahati, Assam.

4. The post of Senior Resident is a tenure post, for a period of 03 (three) years as per Central
Residency Scheme.

5. The appointees shall be granted leave in accordance with the Institutional policy.

6.  The prescribed qualification is minimum and merely possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection.

7. The applicants who do not have requisite qualifications up to the date of publication of this notification in the Institute website, News Papers will not be considered.

8. Incomplete application(s) will be summarily rejected.

9. The period of experience wherever prescribed shall be counted after obtaining the prescribed educational qualification.

10. The post(s) is/are whole time and private practice of any kind is prohibited.

11. The candidates are likely to be posted at rural health and urban center attached with the
Institute for the period to be decided by the Institute as applicable.

12. He/ She is expected to abide by the rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to the Institute employees.

13. AIIMS, Guwahati reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies.

14. While every effort will be made to provide residential accommodation to the appointee at the Institute subject to availability but in view of the paucity of the residential accommodation in campus it may not be possible to provide accommodation in every case. In the event that no accommodation is provided, necessary H.R.A. as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status will be provided.

15. Canvassing of any kind will be a disqualification. 

16. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.

17. In case any information given or declaration by the candidate is found to be false or if the candidate has wilfully suppressed any material information relevant to this appointment, he/she will be liable to be removed from the service and legal action will be initiated as deemed fit by the Appointing Authority.

18. The Competent Authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason there of or giving notice.

19. The decision of the Competent Authority regarding interview, verification of documents and selection would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation/ correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

20. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.

21.  All disputes will be subject to jurisdiction of Court of Law at Guwahati, Assam.
